‘Going Postal’ Reception

Following the airing of ‘Going Postal‘ on Sunday and Monday the general echo about the Terry Pratchett adaptation is very favourable. Many reviews called it entertaining and great fun and were praising the excellent cast – including Claire Foy – as well as the show’s visuals. And Claire seems to have gained quite a number of new fans according to Twitter.

It was the most-watched multichannel show of the day on Sunday, with 879,000 viewers and a 5% audience share. The second part on Monday attracted 627,000 viewers and brought Sky an audience share of 3.2%.

Sky1 HD and Sky1 are repeating all of ‘Going Postal on Friday, June 4th from 6pm! And it will be released on Region 2 Blu-ray & 2 Disc Special Edition DVD on August 23, 2010 including the following extras:

• Image Gallery: props, set drawings, storyboards

‘Pulse’ Trailer

As briefly mentioned before, the BBC3 pilot ‘Pulse‘ starring Claire Foy will air next week on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 9pm on BBC3. Here’s the official site with a trailer.

One whole week before, on Thursday, May 27, 2010, the show will premiere online on BBC.co.uk.

If you reside in the UK and can view BBC3 please be sure to tune in. The amount of viewers will decide the future fate of this – according to many online reviews – promising series.

Claire featured in Harper’s Bazaar

First look at Hannah in ‘Pulse’

The BBC3 pilot ‘Pulse‘ will air sometime in June and so far the few advance reviews have been very positive. Let’s hope it will get picked up!

The main character, Hannah, like all the best Heroes/heroines has her own inner demons to conquer when’s she’s not busy uncovering that all is not well at St Timothy’s. Her growth from a daughter struggling with her mother’s death and the huge shoes she now has to fill to reluctant heroine feels realistic. It would have been easy to start the episode with a massive info dump to give us her background but instead we are allowed to find out how and why she’s so traumatized as the episode draws on.

‘Going Postal’ Extended Trailer etc

I replaced the captures of the first trailer with some without the Sky Logo and added captures of the extended ‘Going Postal‘ trailer that can be watched on the official site or below the cut. Also added some new stills. Apparently, ‘Going Postal‘ is scheduled to air on May 30.

The author of the book, Terry Pratchett, described Adora Belle Dearheart, Claire’s character, as “a kind of Bogart heroine” in a recent interview with The Independent.
