RED UK (2013) Photoshoot

Posted by Anna with No Comments

It came to my attention that Claire was probably featured in an issue of RED magazine around March 2013. We don’t have scans from the feature itself, but I’ve managed to find the photoshoot that was used in it.

Claire Foy at the Olivier Awards

Posted by Mia with No Comments

Macbeth‘ finished its eighty day run last Saturday. The production was a phenomenal success, was entirely sold out and surprisingly received two nominations at this year’s Olivier Awards (instead of next year’s): for Best Revival and James McAvoy for Best Actor. The Olivier Awards were held yesterday at the Royal Opera House in London and sadly the Olivier Award in the two categories didn’t go to ‘Macbeth‘ but to ‘Long Day’s Journey Into Night‘ and Luke Treadaway respectively.

Claire Foy attended the event and looked absolutely gorgeous wearing a strapless 1958 Hartnell black silk and velvet gown by William Vintage.

I added a few pictures, some of them in high quality. Enjoy!

Meet the Macbeths (James McAvoy & Claire Foy)

Posted by Mia with No Comments

from ATG’s Magazine / by Imogen Sarre & Jasper Rees

Roughly how old are the Macbeths?

We know they have had at least one child, presumed dead, but beyond that Shakespeare offers no further clue. Such is the trajectory of their moral degradation that audiences, and indeed casting directors, tend not to think of the Thane of Glamis and his wife as still having the bloom of youth on their cheeks. Thus the lead role can happily be taken on by someone in his 60s, as happened with Patrick Stewart when the play was most recently revived in the West End.

But now the Hollywood star James McAvoy brings the zip and springiness of someone known mainly for playing callow young men in the likes of The Last King of Scotland, Atonement and The Last Station. He turns 34 during his run in the role at the Trafalgar Studios, and the latest King of Scotland is joined in matrimony to Claire Foy, who turns 29 in April but looks young enough to have twice played teenagers in 2012: at the Royal Court in Mike Bartlett’s Love Love Love and in the BBC drama White Heat.

In rehearsals: “Macbeth”

Posted by Anna with No Comments

Just over two weeks remain before Scottish star James McAvoy takes to the stage in Jamie Lloyd’s highly anticipated production of Macbeth.

William Shakespeare’s dark and powerful tragedy, which will also see Claire Foy take on the role of the tyrannical leader’s ruthlessly ambitious wife, plays at the Trafalgar Studio 1 from 9 February.

But if you can’t wait until then, photographer Johan Persson snuck into rehearsals to give us a look behind the scenes.

‘Upstairs Downstairs’ Episode 2.06 Screencaptures

Posted by Mia with No Comments

A couple of weeks ago the second series of ‘Upstairs Downstairs‘ came to a dramatic end as all the different storylines came together. The whole cast gave their best, but in my opinion, it was especially Claire Foy as Lady Persie who had some really strong moments and proved what a great actress she is.

Sorry for the long absence. But I added loads of new stills and promotional pictures from ‘White Heat‘. Don’t forget to tune in tomorrow at 9pm when the sixth & final episode set in 1990 of ‘White Heat’ airs on BBC Two in the UK.

It’s 1990 and the flat is for sale; Orla organises one last reunion for the flatmates. A brutal revelation has cataclysmic consequences. Back in the present, the last surviving flatmate arrives and the identity of the deceased flatmate is finally revealed.

‘Upstairs Downstairs’ Episode 2.05 Screencaptures

Posted by Mia with No Comments

Earlier this week I added screencaptures of last Sunday’s episode of ‘Upstairs Downstairs‘. I have to say, at this point I can’t take anything Sir Hallam says seriously anymore. If he really believes what he’s saying he’s deceiving himself. And kudos to the twist in Lady Persie’s storyline – definitely keeps things interesting though it doesn’t make her more redeeming.

‘White Heat’ Episode 1.02 Screencaptures

Posted by Mia with No Comments

I added screencaptures from the second ‘White Heat‘ episode. Charlotte was doing quite a lot of observing apart from putting stickers on ads that said ‘This ad degrades women’ or ‘This man degrades women’. I think the episode showed quite well at what personal cost modern ideas come or how political views don’t transcend into personal lives. I feel like the events in 1967 shaped Charlotte and I can’t wait to see where she goes from there.

‘Upstairs Downstairs’ Episode 2.04 Screencaptures

Posted by Mia with No Comments

In last Sunday’s episode of ‘Upstairs Downstairs‘ I was ready to throw things at Sir Hallam and Lady Persie. In my opinion, he was behaving like a spoilt teenager and she was playing games and testing her attraction out of jealousy and general low self-esteem.
