I added screencaptures of all the ‘Going Postal‘ Blu-ray extras featuring Claire Foy. Most of them are only DVD quality however. I deleted the previous captures from the website featurettes because they all had huge SKY tags on them and were now included in the Blu-ray Extras.

Claire Foy casts spells in ‘Season of the Witch’

Claire Foy is a major talent. She is a fantastic actress, she is strikingly beautiful and she has an amazing personality. And best of all, she is starring opposite Nicolas Cage as “the Witch” in Season of the Witch. While she may be appearing opposite Nic Cage and Ron Perlman, she steals the show with her wild and terrifying performance.

iamROGUE.com recently had the chance to talk with Claire and we briefly spoke about her work in Little Dorrit and Going Postal, but we talked a lot about playing a witch in her latest. She is funny and extremely charming. She opened up about working with Nic and Ron, researching the role, and about how it wasn’t the “boys club” that you might think.

So be sure to check out Season of the Witch when it opens on January 7 at a theatre near you. Continue reading Claire Foy casts spells in ‘Season of the Witch’

Many reviews called it entertaining and great fun and were praising the excellent cast – including Claire Foy – as well as the show’s visuals. And Claire seems to have gained quite a number of new fans according to Twitter.

Claire Foy a sneering delight as Adora Deerheart, the perfect anti-love interest for the perfect anti-hero.

Claire Foy On…

from the ‘Going Postal‘ Press Pack

Going Postal…
It’s the story of Moist von Lipwig and about him pulling his finger out, really. It’s a very human story, it’s about relationships and you can relate to it; there are a lot of modern references. It’s fantasy, but not a fantasy.

Adora Belle Dearheart…
She’s a badass. She’s hard as nails on the outside and she doesn’t give people much of a chance, but actually, underneath, she’s very vulnerable. She’s had a hard life and she’s a sensitive soul deep down, so there are plenty of moments to play when the mask slips.

Adora works for the Golem Trust and Lipwig’s parole officer is a golem. She’s sort of like a recruitment consultant for them and stands up for their rights. Lipwig wants to learn how to manipulate the golems so that’s when she meets him. After that he’s constantly trying to get a date with her. Both her brother and father have died as the result of a family fortune they lost, and the man she blames for that is Reacher Gilt. She hates him with a passion. It turns out that Lipwig has a plan to bring Gilt down, so that is where it all begins between the two of them…

‘Going Postal’ Extended Trailer etc

I replaced the captures of the first trailer with some without the Sky Logo and added captures of the extended ‘Going Postal‘ trailer that can be watched on the official site or below the cut. Also added some new stills. Apparently, ‘Going Postal‘ is scheduled to air on May 30.

The author of the book, Terry Pratchett, described Adora Belle Dearheart, Claire’s character, as “a kind of Bogart heroine” in a recent interview with The Independent.

First Look at Adora Belle Dearheart

I added 2 pictures from the upcoming TV movie ‘Going Postal‘ which show Claire Foy as Adora Belle Dearheart. Sky One will be airing this “story of sweet romance and dark revenge set against an ongoing dispute between a traditional postal system and Discworld’s equivalent of the internet” in April 2010. Stay tuned for the exact dates as well as hopefully more and/or better pictures. In the meantime the official plot synopsis:

When life as a travelling con artist catches up with swindler Moist Von Lipwig (Coyle), it looks as though he will face the death penalty. But awarded a last minute reprieve, Lipwig is given one more chance on the condition that he takes up the cursed role of postmaster, and transforms Ankh-Morpork’s decrepit post office. Making an immediate enemy of bloodthirsty tyrant Reacher Gilt (Suchet), Lipwig’s first instinct is to run… until he meets the spellbinding Adora Belle Dearheart (Foy) with whom he falls in love. But what they both are unaware of is the part Lipwig played in the downfall of the Dearheart family. Is their romance forever doomed?

New Project: Going Postal

Sky1 has announced the cast for their upcoming adaptation of the Terry Pratchett discworld novel Going Postal – and Claire Foy is playing one of the lead characters: Adora Belle Dearheart. The rest of the illustre cast include Richard Coyle as Moist Von Lipwig, David Suchet as Reacher Guilt, Charles Dance as Lord Vetinari, Steve Pemberton as Drumknott, Andrew Sachs as Groat and Tamsin Greig as Miss Cripslock.

This is Sky1’s third adaptation of a Terry Pratchett novel – hopefully it’ll be as successful as Hogfather and The Colour of Magic. The story of the fantasy novel Going Postal is happening in Ankh-Morphork and filming has now started in Budapest, Hungary. Directed by Jon Jones (The Diary of Anne Frank, Northanger Abbey), produced by Sue De Beauvoir (Merlin) and adapted by Richard Kurti and Bev Doyle the TV adaptation is scheduled to air on Sky1 and Sky1 HD in the UK next Easter (2010) in two parts. Each episode will be an hour and a half long.

Synopsis:
Going Postal is the story of arch-swindler Moist Von Lipwig (Coyle) and the beautiful, vengeful Adora Belle Dearheart (Foy). A life long travelling con-artist, Lipwig’s crimes finally catch up with him in the town of Ankh-Morpork. Faced with death by hanging, Lipwig is spared by Lord Vetinari (Dance), who sees him as the perfect man for the role of Postmaster in the decrepit Ankh-Morpork post office. Faced with an almost impossible task, and making an immediate enemy of bloodthirsty tyrant Reacher Gilt (Suchet), owner of the rival money-hungry Grand Trunk Clacks communication monopoly, Lipwig’s first instinct is to run. That is until he meets the spellbinding Adora. Captivated by her beauty and brains, Lipwig will try anything to win her affections…little knowing the part he has played in her family’s downfall.
